Pr. Joseph AZOURY, MD

Doctor Joseph Azoury is the chairman, founder and medical director of Azoury IVF clinic. He has the biggest IVF experience in the region. He has performed more than 40,000 IVF cycles! His patient trust is the living proof of his excellent reputation and his high success rate.

Doctor Joseph Azoury has more than 40 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology. He is currently the Clinical Chairman of the ObGYN department in MLH-BUMC and the associate Dean of the faculty of Medicine in Balamand University. He has personally delivered more than 40 thousand babies! He offers personalized care before, during and after pregnancy and has a very big experience in taking in charge women experiencing high-risk pregnancies related to obstetric, medical, surgical or genetic complications.

Doctor Joseph Azoury started his career in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in 1987 in Paris. He is currently the “GODFATHER” of Assisted Reproductive Technologies in Lebanon. He was the first one to introduce ICSI to Lebanon in 1995 and the first one to introduce the Embryoscope to the Middle-East in 2013. Despite his experience he is always up-to-date with all the advances in the field of human reproduction and IVF and does his best to participate in the maximum number of international meetings yearly. He also participates in a very big number of national and international meetings as chairman, moderator and invited speaker.

He is member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Lebanese Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been elected President of the Lebanese fertility Society from 2017 until 2019. During this period, he organized many awareness campaigns about infertility and fertility preservation. He did a great accomplishment by pushing the Lebanese order of physicians and Ministry of Health to admit that infertility is a disease and that everyone has the right to access treatment. He also worked very hard to establish guidelines and regulations for IVF centers and Assisted reproductive technologies in Lebanon. In these regards, a project of ministerial decree and a project of ministerial decision that cover all aspects of this field have been written. He will continue fighting until they become effective.

In a small country like Lebanon, IVF patients choose their doctors mainly according to their reputation and their word of mouth success-rate. Doctor Azoury alone performs more than a thousand cycles of IVF per year.
